Obituary of William Cleve Connor: In Memorium Mr. William Connor died in his home 6 miles west of Vienna, February 25th at 2:10 PM, after an illness of about 12 days with pneumonia following an attack of flu. Deceased was born within a few miles of his death place March 25, 1885. His marriage to Miss Lula Helton took place about 16 years ago. The union was blessed with four children-Clarence, Raymond, Margie and Pauline. Except for about 2 months when he located at Washington, MO, Mr. Connor spent his entire life near the home place. Besides his wife and children, deceased leaves to mourn his death his aged mother, now 82 years, 5 brothers: Thomas, Michael, James, Edward and John and one sister Mary Birmingham. One brother, Owen, died about 15 years ago. The funeral services were held in Visitation Church Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock. After a Requiem High Mass the remains were interred in the Parish Cemetery near his father' grave. The many neighbors who braved the bad roads to attend the funeral was a fine testimony to the esteem in which they held the deceased. We extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obituary of Lula Helton Connor, (William's wife): Former Vienna Resident Buried in Washington Mrs. Lula Helton Connor, 73, died Tuesday, April 4, (1967) at St. Francis Hospital in Washington, MO. Mrs. Connor was born near Vienna April 4, 1894, the daughter of Gilbert and Nettie Copeland Helton. Her husband, William Connor, preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were he parent, a brother, Ernie Helton and a sister, Nora Brandel. Survivors include two sons, Clarence of Washington and Raymond of St. Louis; two daughters, Marjorie Schnider of St. Louis and Pauline Overschmidt of Washington; four brothers Richard Helton of Dixon, Vernon of Vienna, Mitchel of Sullivan and Leonard of Washington; one sister, Martha Schutte of Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 6 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington, with internment in St. Francis cemetery, Washington. Obituary of Merandy R. Russell-- M R Russell one of the thirteen children of Thomas and Sidney Russell, was born in Monroe County, Tennessee, on October 3, 1851, and departed this life on March 14, 1922, at the age of 70 years, 5 months, and 11 days at his home near Greenfield. He was united in marriage to Martha E. Lievsay at Greenfield on October 8, 1882. To this union five children were born. He had been in poor health for the past year. He is survived by his wife and four living children, Mrs. Sidney Jeffereys and Fred Russell of Greenfield, Mrs Frank Wright of Liberal Missouri, and Mrs Walter Hampton of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one daughter, Mrs. Laura Stanley, preceded him to the great beyond. At the time of his death the children were unable to be present except Mrs Sidney Jeffreys and Fred Russell. He leaves 21 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. contact Jaime
Obituary for Donald Frederick Hampton-- Mr and Mrs Walter Hampton and four children arrived here last Friday from Cheyenne, Wyoming , with the body of their infant son, Donald Fredrick, who died at Cheyenne on March 25th, aged 16 days. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. F. Daughtrey at the Sidney Jefferies residence on Saturday, and interment was made in Greenfield Cemetery. Mr Hampton and family will remain in this county for some weeks with relatives before returning to Cheyenne where he is in the employ of the Union Pacific. March 1919 contact Jaime

San Bernardino area for 17 years, in California 20 years. Survivors: sons, Harry, Grand Terrace, Rev. Harold, New Jersey; daughters, Mrs. Lorene Jackson, Colton; Mrs Lillian McGoorty, Washington state; brother Fred Russell, Greenfield Mo; 13 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren. Obituary for Martha E (Lievsay) Russell--Martha E Lievsay was born Frebruary 4 1862. She gave her heart to Christ at an early age and united with the South Greenfield Baptist church where she remained a faithful member until her death January 19 1932. She was united in marriage to M R Russell in 1883, who died March 18 1922. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive except one daughter, Mrs Laura Stanley, who passed away Oct 14, 1921. All the children were present during her last illness. She was married to Rev J.T. Williams March 7, 1926. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Rev J.T. Williams, three daughters Mrs Clara Jeffreys of the home address, Mrs Frank Wright of Westion Mo., and Mrs Effie Hampton of Cheyenne Wyoming, and one son, Fred Russell of Lockwood Mo. She also leaves six step children, nineteen grandchildren, and seven greatgrandchildren. Obiturary of Laura Russell- Mrs Sidney Jeffreys received the sad news of the death of her sister, Mrs Laura Russell Stanley on Thursday. Interment was made in Greenfield Cemetery. Mrs Jeffreys and family lhave the sympathy of their neighbors and friends. Mrs Homer Stanley Dead--Mrs Laura Stanley, wife of Homer Stanley of Liberal, died at Mt Carmel hospital Pitsburg, Kansas on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Death was due to peritonitis. Mrs Stanley took sick last Friday night and grew steadly worse until,as a last hope, she was taken Monday night to the hospital, where it was thought an operation might reveal the exact cause of the inflamation. But when she reached the hospital her condition was such that the physicians gave up hope and advised that an operation would be useless toward saving her life. The deceased was a daughter of Mr and Mrs M R Russell of Lockwood Mo. She was born in Dade County Missouri, December 12 1888, and at the time of her death was thirty-two years and ten months of age. She was married to Homer Stanley on October 15, 1912, at Greenfield Missouri. She leaves three children, Charles Edward, nine years old, Violet Fern, six years old, and Virginia Lucile, age three. She is also survived by her husband , her father and mother, one brother Fred Russell of Lockwood, three sisters, Mrs Ada Wright of Liberal, Mrs Clara Jeffreys of Greenfield, and Mrs Effie Hampton of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Funeral services were held at the home in the east part of town on Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W E Mathews, pastor of the M.E. Church, and the body was taken to Greenfield for burial.
